Joggins Fossil Centre - Our Backyard is 300,000,001 years old!

The team at the Joggins Fossil Institute are planning the opening of the centre for the 2009 season on Earth Day, 22nd April.
The Institute is pleased to announce that award winning Nova Scotia artist and illustrator, Susan Tooke will be launching and signing her new book "B is for Bluenose, a Nova Scotia Alphabet" and making a presentation on how the book was developed and her inspiration for the artowrk at 11:00am. Original artwork from the book will be on display at the centre.
There will be free guided tours of the Joggins Fossil Cliffs at 1:00pm and 3:00pm (weather permitting) and the centre will be open with free admission between 9:30am and 5:30pm.
Come along and find out how our last season went and find out about our plans for 2009 and beyond. Enjoy a free fairtrade, organic coffee or tea and find out why we support the fairtrade movement.
The Institute is also looking to plant 2009 trees, native to the Acadian Forest, within the fossil centre grounds and is looking for a company who would like to sponsor this by donating 2009 seedlings.
