Hours of Operation
For the 2010 season the Joggins Fossil Centre will be open:
Earth Day 22nd April through to Halloween 31st October
The Centre is open every day 9:30am to 5:30pm (last admission).
The beach and Cliffs are accessible outside of these hours but please refer to tide times and sunrise/sunset times before you visit. Please bear in mind that February through to March the beach is often inaccessible due to ice flow on the Bay of Fundy.
Costs associated with a visit
The Joggins Fossil Institute is a registered charity, which relies upon income generated through on-site fees to ensure that it can provide excellent services and facilities including; monitoring of health and safety on the beach, provide education and interpretation and ensure that the site is protected for future generations.
We try to keep our fees as low as possible to ensure that there are no financial barriers to accessing the property.
- We offer three levels of tours, with costs starting at only $5.00 per person
- We offer discounted admission and tour fees for seniors and students, families and groups
- Children under 5 visit the site for free
- Discounts are available if you purchase Admission plus a Lyell or Dawson Tour
- Family Friendly Fridays
- Our admissions team will always ensure that you pay the cheapest fee for your party, according to the make-up of your family members.
Admission Fees
We charge an admission fee to view the gallery and charge for guided tours. Here are the gallery admission fees for 2010 (inclusive of tax).
Adults $8.00
Seniors (65+) and Students (K-12 or with valid student card)$6.00
Family* of 3 $20.00
Family* of 4 or 5 $25.00
Definition of Family - A multi-generational group of visitors, which includes adults and/or seniors and children.
